SafeSignal does not require an account and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs. Saved VINs, product details, barcodes, places, alert history, and preferences remain on your device.
The camera is used only while scanning a barcode; SafeSignal does not save photos or video. Relevant search terms or coordinates are sent to government services when you request recall, weather, earthquake, or air-quality information. Current location is not retained unless you explicitly save a place.
If you enable notifications, SafeSignal may check for new potential matches when iOS permits background activity. You can delete saved information in the app, and deleting the app removes locally stored information.
SafeSignal uses NHTSA, CPSC/SaferProducts.gov, FDA/openFDA, NWS/NOAA, USGS, and EPA AirNow. These services may process network information under their own policies.
